Building local, regional and continental identities in the past and contemporary

The conference is held as part of the “Good and bad neighbourhoods” series. So far, there have already been five editions of this conference – three in Bydgoszcz (2015, 2016, 2017) and two in the Russian city of Oriekhov-Zuyev (2018, 2019). Each of them was devoted to a different theme.

The main theme of the international research project is the ties and the power of mutual interaction between neighbours in the past, but also in the present. The conferences are aimed at exchanging views and presenting the results of historical, political and sociological research concerning the topic of building mutual relations between communities that live next to each other. The intention of the originators of the project was to look at neighbourly relations from the point of view of individual people, as well as local or national communities.
