Prof. Robert Hampson: the inaugural lecture “Joseph Conrad Today”

We would like to invite you to the inauguration of the Joseph Conrad Fellowship scheme on 3 December. The British Professor Robert Hampson will deliver a lecture entitled “Joseph Conrad Today”.

Prof. Robert Hampson: the inaugural lecture “Joseph Conrad Today”

What does Joseph Conrad’s name actually mean these days? The question, although seemingly simple, becomes more complicated the more we look at the position and popularity of Conrad in different countries as well as in various epochs. He is a worldwide writer, present in numerous cultures. Someone we know by name. But do we understand his messages?

During the lecture you may learn all the above. It will be followed by a discussion and conversation with Professor Hampson, moderated by Krzysztof Cieślik (Instytut Książki).

When: 3 December 2021, 6 pm.

Where: Marzyciele i Rzemieślnicy, Dom Towarowy Braci Jabłkowskich (3rd fl.), 25 Bracka Str. in Warsaw.

The event will take a hybrid form. Professor Hampson’s lecture will be streamed for the guests on site and available online. We invite all interested parties to attend the inauguration of the scholarship scheme.
