Dr Przemysław Sobolewski

Przemysław Sobolewski graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Warsaw (UW), where he obtained the PhD degree in Legal Sciences on the basis of the thesis “Zgoda na zabieg medyczny”. His scholarly activity focuses on civil, commercial and medical law, in particular the protection of patients’ rights and the organisation of health services. He is professionally involved in legislation. Since 2010, he has been employed in the Bureau of Research of the Chancellery of the Sejm (BAS) as specialist on legislation, subsequently as senior specialist, Head of the Department, and currently as Deputy Director of the BAS. He is the editor-in-chief of the ”Biuletyn Europejski BAS” and ”Zeszyty Prawnicze BAS”. His academic achievements include extensive passages in the Medical Law System and the Commentary to the Civil Code. He is an experienced university lecturer who has delivered lectures on civil law, commercial law and family law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the UW for Polish students and foreign students, staying in Poland as part of the ERASMUS programme. He conducted scientific research both in Poland and at foreign scientific institutions, e.g. at the European Institute (EUI) in Florence and at the Oxford University. He is the author or co-author of over 70 scientific publications in leading Polish and English periodicals and over 100 legal opinions prepared for the purpose of the legislative process.
