Dr Piotr Jerzy Mierzwa

Piotr Jerzy Mierzwa graduated in Law from the Kozminski University in Warsaw (2011), field of science: European and Polish economic and financial law. He obtained the PhD degree in Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn on the basis of the thesis “Nadużycia na rynku kapitałowym. Analiza prawnokarna i finansowa” in 2017. His scholarly activity focuses on the scientific aspect of abuses of participants in the capital market and the issue of public companies. He is the author of publications related to the legal aspect of financial supervision and legal regulations sanctioning malpractices. He is an attorney-at-law in the District Chamber of the Bar Association in Bydgoszcz, as well as Director of the Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. In 2012-2016, he was employed at the Bank Guarantee Fund (BG), then in 2016- 2018, at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Inland Navigation. Since 2018, he was initially Deputy Director and then Director of the Department of Parliamentary Affairs in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, responsible, among other things, for the implementation of government bills in parliament and legislative amendments. Since 2018, he has been both a member and chairman of the Supervisory Boards of state-owned companies. In 2021, he was awarded the badge of honour by the Prime Minister in recognition of his services to legislation.
