Dr hab. Michał Warciński

Michał Warciński, born in 1979, graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration, the Faculty of History at the University of Warsaw (UW) and the Faculty of Canon Law at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW). In the course of his academic career, he obtained the PhD degree in Legal Sciences, and subsequently the postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in Legal Sciences, both at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the UW. He was a member of the Supreme Court Research and Analyses Office; a researcher, as well as Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Justice (IWS) and Director of the Bureau of Research of the Chancellery of the Sejm (BAS). Currently a judge at the Constitutional Tribunal and an academic lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Warsaw.

His scholarly activity focuses on civil law, in particular the general part of civil law, property law, the general part of contract law, real estate law and civil procedure law. He is the author of two monographs, dozens of articles, glosses and research papers, and the co-author of a popular commentary on the Civil Code.
