The history of Poland in the 20th century on “Solidarity” stamps

The board exhibition “The history of Poland in the 20th century on ‘Solidarity’ stamps” was created on the occasion of the anniversary of the so-called “Elbląg events”, which took place in Pomerania in the 1970s and 1980s.

The stamps used in the presentation come from Grzegorz Wołoszczak’s private philatelic collection. It consists of several dozen carefully selected postage stamps commemorating those times. They symbolise, inter alia, the anti-communist underground in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, present images of the Home Army commanders and people of the greatest merit in the fight for independent Poland, as well as the badges of the Home Army subdivisions.

The Polish-English version of the exhibition was prepared by the Institute De Republica in cooperation with the Rządowe Centrum Legislacji and the NZSS “Solidarność”.
